Today for breakfast we had hash-browns, bacon, baked beans and plum tomatoes.
One of the first activities was abseiling. Abseiling is when you lower yourself down a big, tall wall by pushing the rope up.
One of the most fun activities was Laser Tag. Group 1 and Group 3 had to battle each other. Mr Griffiths was so good he completely went bonkers and thrashed everyone. Eventually they drew by winning one game each.
For lunch we had burgers and fries that were just like the yummy school ones.
Next we did the Trapeze. Just so everyone knows, trapeze is when you climb up a pole and stand on a high platform and jump off to grab the trapeze swing. Not many people managed to grab the swing, but everyone gave it a good go.
The final activity today was fencing or the sensory trail. Some of us were fencing to the music from Pirates of the Caribbean film!
For dinner we had some really nice lasagne with garlic bread, or chicken and potatoes.
After, we had to start packing for tomorrow but we also got ready for our silent disco. The silent disco is where you wear headphones and you can choose which song you want to listen and dance to. Our PGL leaders were dressed as giant fruit. It was really fun.
MORNING
We woke up at 6:45 and got ready for breakfast. For breakfast, which took 30 minuets, we had sausages, hash browns and baked beans (with a cereal bar and a hydration station). Afterwards, we had 20 minuets to get changed for the activities such as Jacobs Ladder (A tall ladder with gaps between logs that get larger the higher up you go), Problem Solving (We had to fix a lot of problems that you would encounter in real life witch led to a final problem to solve), Zip Wire (we climbed up to the top of a tall tower and jumped off to be caried in the harness and at the end there was a tire with supposed money in it ), Sensory Trail (It were you were a blindfold and hold a rope through a obstacle course) and group 3 did Fencing (poking each other with sticks and protective armour on with a very specific technique).
AFTERNOON
After those super activities, we met at the meeting point, when everyone was there we went to our room for getting ready for lunch which took 30 minuets. First we had curry and pasta bolognaise
after there was a salad bar and a hydration station. Then we started the afternoon activities such as; Jacobs ladder (A tall ladder with gaps between logs that get larger the higher up you go) Ziplining (we climbed up to the top of a tall tower and jumped off to be caried in the harness and at the end there was a tire with supposed money in it ) Fencing (poking each other with sticks and protective armour on with a very specific technique).
NIGHT TIME
After 20 minuets group 2 went to the gift shop and then there was another 30 minuets till dinner. Because the weather meant the campfire couldn't happen, we finished the evening with a film night.
Today it was snowing heavily and it was freezing but we all wrapped up in lots of layers.
Firstly we did archery. The best thing was trying to point to the arrow to the centre and the archery games.
Secondly we did the giant swing. You can do different levels of heights. At first you are being pulled up higher and higher and then there is the terrifying drop!
Next we did buggy building which was a lot of fun. We made buggies out of logs, rope and barrels. We tested them by two people sitting while the rest of us were pushing or being the brake.
After that we did the climbing wall. We had to stop at the black line on the first go but on the second go we could go as high as we wanted. It was so scary.
The food is really good. For breakfast we had bacon or veggie sausage, hashbrowns, baked beans, yoghurt, cereal and eggs. For lunch we had jacket potatoes with cheese, tuna, beans or chilli non carne. For dinner we had Chicken Katsu or Mac and cheese. They were all delicious.
Day 1
Before we left we made posters for our dorm rooms. Leaving school felt scary for me but it was fun the car ride because there was music at the back and I was near the back. When we arrived it was not that bad but the weather was bad we got settled in. We went to find our fire emergency spot which was by one of the netball courts. We played this weird granny game where you were only allowed to walk and you had to link arms with other people. Then we played a gorilla game where you had to sing a rhyme and touch each others hand and when the rhyme ended whoever it ended on was out. It was cool and I won at the end. There was a moo off and you could not even smile so it was pretty hard. (We'll explain the moo off when we get home!)
After that we had dinner which was so good. It was fish fingers for dinner or turkey meatballs.
Then for our night time activity we played a game called ambush. Ambush is a game where you get into two teams. One team hides in the forest leaving arrows as you go. The other team tries to find them. If the second team finds the first team, they shout ambush. If team two passes team one, team one shouts ambush. We ended with a tie so we settled it with a moo off.
To end the day we listened to a story.
