Forest School Support

Help Us Grow

We're passionate about providing enriching Forest School experiences for our pupils. Your support plays a vital role in making this possible. This page outlines the ways you can contribute to our Forest School and help us nurture a love of nature in our children.

Why Support Forest School?

Forest School offers invaluable opportunities for children to learn and grow through outdoor exploration and play. It fosters their creativity, resilience, and connection with the natural world.

How You Can Help:

There are several ways you can support our Forest School:

  • Donations: Financial contributions, however small, make a significant difference. Donations help us purchase essential resources and improve our Forest School site. We have some areas that need repair:

    • Apple Grove Shelter: Our Apple Grove shelter needs new roof felt after storm damage. We are looking for a roofer who can supply and fit the felt.
    • Woodland Entrance Gate: The new entrance to the Woodland/Nature Reserve would greatly benefit from a new double gate. We need help with the supply and fitting.
    • Apple Grove Gate & Fence: The Apple Grove also requires a new single gate and some fence repairs. We would appreciate help with the supply and fitting.
  • Specific Items Needed: In addition to financial donations, we are also in need of the following items:
    • Wood Chippings
    • Logs and Stumps
    • Branches and Sticks
    • Multipurpose Compost
    • Corrugated Metal Sheets
    • Metal Pots and Pans

If you are able to donate any of these items, please contact the school.  Please ensure all donated items are safe and appropriate for use by children.

  • Amazon Wishlist: We have a list of items which can help here: Botley Forest School Amazon Wishlist. Selecting the Gift Registry Address option will ensure items are delivered directly to the school.

  • Volunteering: We welcome volunteers to assist with Forest School sessions and site maintenance. Whether you have expertise in nature, crafts, or simply a passion for the outdoors, your help would be greatly appreciated. We are particularly looking for volunteers to help with our building projects, leading nature walks, or just being another pair of eyes. Please contact the school office or complete the form below if you're interested in volunteering.

  • Fundraising: Participating in school fundraising events is another fantastic way to contribute to our Forest School. Keep an eye out for upcoming events in our school newsletter.

Your generosity makes a real difference to our Forest School. Thank you for your support!

Volunteering at Forest School: Your Support Makes a Difference

Forest School thrives on a high adult-to-child ratio, ensuring the children feel safe, confident, and supported in their explorations. Our dedicated Teaching Assistants provide invaluable support, and we welcome volunteers to join our sessions and further enhance the children's learning experiences.

What a Forest School Volunteer Does:

  • Monitors children's safety: Ensuring children are safe while exploring and engaging in activities.
  • Encourages responsible risk-taking: Supporting children in taking appropriate risks within the Forest School ethos.
  • Respects individual needs: Being mindful of any Teaching Assistants working one-to-one with children and respecting their guidance.

Sessions run from 13:15 to 15:15 every school day (EYFS sessions run from 9:00 to 11:00). If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the [Volunteer Application Form] and specify "Forest School" in section 6.
