Welcome from our Chair
Hello and a warm welcome to all our new parents and carers! Welcome back, too, to all our parents and carers with children who are returning for a new school year.
We wanted to take this opportunity to give you some background information on the role School Governors play, who we are and what we do. We feel very privileged to be able to work with all the staff to ensure that the children at Botley School receive the education that they deserve. We have the following functions:
We meet as a whole Governing Body six times a year. In addition to this, we have two sub-committees, our Performance, Standards and Curriculum Committee and our Financial Strategy and Resources Committee, each of which is responsible for different aspects of School life. Much of our work is done in these sub-committees, which meet regularly each term. Some of our Governors also fulfil statutory roles that oversee different aspects of School life, for example Safeguarding and Health and Safety. As well as these roles, some of us are linked to specific subject areas within the School (i.e Literacy, Numeracy, and Special Educational Needs) and will visit the school regularly to review monitor progress against the School's improvement plan. You can find out more about us and what we do by following the links below.
