6th December 2023 - The Pupil Council have got their fundraising campaign off to a fantastic start.

With the combination of the first non-uniform day and then a cake sale, the council have already raised £270 which is over a quarter of the way to our fundraising target of £1000.

As a reminder, they are raising the money to take part in the first Oxford Art Trail next summer run by Sobell House. If we reach the target by February, the school will take part by designing and creating our own mini ox to join the herd on the Oxford trail. All the funds raised will go to the Sobell House charity. You can find out more about this ‘oxciting’ way to raise funds for a worthy cause on the OxTrail website. The next fundraising events in school are: Thursday 6th December – Christmas Jumper Day Friday 15th December – Christmas Decorations sale during class workshare events

Once we received our Ox, the children were given an assembly to inform them about the project, it's importance, and how we are going to fundraise for Sobell House. They also needed to give our ox a name. The children chose 'Boxley' as their favourite - combining Botley & Ox together.

Our Design Team set to work, and put forth several ideas to the school council, eventually deciding upon a reflection of a school project that took place in 2003/04 where the children designed and produced a tea towel with caricature of themselves and some of the teachers. 20 years on, we have asked the children to do the same, this time with 250 children and the adults.

The children decided that it was important to include our school values of:

They also wanted to include our school House colours of:

Red House, Blue House, Green House, and Yellow House.
