Once upon a time
In our topic 'Once upon a time', the Reception children began by sharing their favourite Fairy Tale stories and exploring the language within these stories (Once upon a time, happily ever after).
Goldilocks and the three bears
We read the story of Goldilocks and the three bears and retold the story as a group. We then sequenced pictures from the story and wrote about the pictures. We talked about the actions from Goldilocks and what she should do to make things right. Additionally we read alterative versions of the story and compared them.
We talked about porridge and our favourite toppings. In Maths we practised our counting skills by placing the correct number of toppings onto our bowl of porridge.
