Year 2 – Poplar
Welcome to Poplar Class!
Meet your teacher – Miss Amy Sutton
Hello everyone!
My name is Ms Amy Sutton, and I am delighted to be joining Year 2 at Botley Primary School. I have been teaching primary-aged children for five years and previously spent three years teaching Year 2 in Oxford. For the past two years, I have been teaching Year 4 and Year 5 at an international primary school in Mexico City. I am excited to bring some of the colour, culture and experiences I have enjoyed in Mexico into the classroom.
I am a drama specialist and love encouraging curiosity and creativity through drama. I have also been told that I am an excellent storyteller, which I hope will help inspire a love of books and learning in our class.
Outside of school, I enjoy travelling, hiking, cycling and running, as well as spending time with family and friends. I also love reading, discovering new places and learning about wildlife. One of my favourite things about being a teacher is seeing children grow in confidence and celebrating their achievements.
I am really looking forward to getting to know all the children and families and to sharing a wonderful year of learning, laughter and adventure together.
