Resource Base coming to Botley in September

In the Spring Term we ran a parent consultation on the opening of a Resource Base for pupils with high level autistic spectrum or communication and interaction needs. 100% of the responses were in favour of the plan, and we have been working with the DfE and the Local Authority to make the plan a reality.

The school received approval from the DfE for a change of status and the Local Authority have agreed funding for a Resource Base to open for some pupils in September of this year. When fully open, the resource base will cater for up to 16 pupils with high level needs across two classes.

In September, the plan is to open the first class for up to 8 pupils while we have some premises work completed in the school. We will then open the second class once the work has been completed. This is an extremely exciting opportunity for Botley and the wider community, so we are thrilled that we have received the go-ahead. We will keep people updated on this development over the coming weeks and months.
