Each Monday your child will bring home a reading to be shared at home then returned on Thursdays.
Some of these books are the reading scheme books your child has been reading in school; Biff, Chip, Kipper and good old Floppy!

You can select the colour to match the books your child brings home.
When reading these reading scheme books, do share the book more than once to help children in developing their word recognition and understanding of the story. Ask your child questions about what has happened and what they think might happen. Get them to retell the story, talk about their favourite part, favourite character etc.
We want to encourage you to read a wide range of books, not just the reading scheme books. Adults reading to children is just as important as the child reading as this helps extends their vocabulary.
Sometimes your child may bring home a Read Write Inc book which support the phonics learning we do in school.
