Reading

Oxford Owl have lots of books that your child can read online. Some of these books are the reading scheme books your child has been receiving from school; Biff, Chip, Kipper and good old Floppy!

Please follow the link

https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/

You can select the colour to match the books  your child  brings home.

When reading these reading scheme books, do share the book more than once to help children in developing their word recognition and understanding of the story. Ask your child questions about what has happened and what they think might happen. Get them to retell the story, talk about their favourite part, favourite character etc.

We want to encourage you to read a wide range of books, not just the reading scheme books. Adults reading to children is just as important as the child reading as this helps extends their vocabulary.
