Autumn Term 1 2020
This term our main focus is to settle our existing and new children into Nursery. We are thinking about how to keep each other safe by following our happy chart. We are learning to be part of a group and listen to each other.
Our topics are formed from the children’s next steps and interests based on our observations and from the book ‘Here We Are’ by Oliver Jeffers.
Therefore, are topics are as follows and we will be learning about…
Our environment on Earth – Botley, Nursery, who we are and what we like to do.
In the Sea – noticing detailed features on fish and sea creatures, mixing colours.
On the land – animals, comparing sizes, patterns, animal noises and movement, moving to music.
Harvest week – the enormous turnip – working together and sharing, looking at signs of Autumn.
Autumn Term 2 2020
This term we have enjoyed celebrating different festivals e.g. bonfire night, Remembrance Day, Children in Need and Christmas. We have been observing the changes in the weather and the environment as autumn turns into winter.
We have thought about the different feelings we feel and why we may feel them, what they look like and how we can change how we feel.
