Nursery

Nursery - Age group 3 - 4 years old

Nursery is a busy, happy and playful place to be. Children are free to choose between a wide range of inside and outside activities e.g. painting, playdough, sand and water play, construction toys, role play, stories and rhymes, singing and dancing, climbing, mark-making, number and problem solving activities and Forest School.

Our highly trained staff get to know the children very well and we aim to provide personalised learning, development and care. We carefully observe and assess children's interests and progress towards the 'Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.'

Reading

Children in the Nursery are encouraged to borrow books to take home and share. Please speak to your childs key person for more information.

The children in Nursery need to bring in their book bags every day.  This enables the staff to have regular access to your child’s current book, and it also makes carrying letters and pieces of work home a lot easier.  Please check your child’s book bag regularly for any letters. School newsletters will be put on the school website and via Classlist.

Clothing

Please could you make sure that the children’s clothes are named and that there is a full set of spare clothes on their peg every day.  Clothes and shoes need to be easy for children to manage themselves as we aim for children to become independent as much as possible.  Please also check that your child is wearing the correct clothes when they get home.

Children need to be free to play outside at all times. Please dress your child appropriately for the weather at all times. Nursery is a 'messy' place so please don't put your child in their best clothes!!!

Sickness

If your child has vomited or had diarrhoea you are reminded to please keep them off school for 48 hours to ensure that any germs do not spread to the other children and staff. Also please remember to inform the School every day if your child is unwell.
